Thanks so much for telling us all about your journey! Sometimes, it seems like fit people just woke up like that w/ no effort at all. I can definitely relate to the ups & downs of starting and sticking to a healthy lifestyle. Congratulations on your anniversary!! It’s such a huge accomplishment!! Brap! Brap!
I’ve been on many diets many were planned around an event or season. Gotta fit in that dress type of diet. I love that your guiding principle is to think of healthy living as a life time journey. Love that!! We all have to be willing to be a phoenix! You said it! Start over when you need to. I’m currently starting over my self. Until next time fruit cake and grotto!!
You’re right! It’s better to have a plan and change it then have no plan at all. I haven’t worked out yet, but I have a goal of walking at least 10,000 steps a day. That’s the plan and it’s a start.
I like the idea of having a food policy too! I tried this a bit when I was on Weight Watchers back in the day. My newest food policy will be read labels.
Thanks so much Kesh!!! Congrats on walking 10,000 steps a day. It's such a great start and healthy habit! Fruit cake and grotto is a tasty must! You'll be enjoying them again when the time is right!
Yes, reading food labels changed my life. Even though the information is right there on the package...for some reason, I never REALLY took a look at it. Once I started paying attention and looking up ingredients, it was definitely eye opening. It wasn't overnight. But over the years I've read books and watched YouTube videos that helped me start to figure out which portion sizes and ingredients were best for me.
Re: journey, yeah sometimes we are just seeing the highlights of being fit. And there's so much going on behind the scenes. We all have ups and downs.
I've definitely been there with event-specific fitness goals! Which is fine except that I never had a post-event fitness plan.
