How to Make "Treat Yo'Self Day" a New Tradition

On this episode of SnackySays featuring Joddie Taylor, join me on my morning walk as I discuss the concept of "Treat Yo’ Self Day"!

Inspired by the show Parks and Recreation, I define "Treat Yo’ Self Day" as a day to indulge in something you want but do not necessarily need. When I saw the characters Tom & Donna describing Treat Yo’ Self Day, I was like, yes! I will do this…so many years went by, and I never did until…

This year, I FINALLY started an annual Treat Yo’ Self Day tradition with my fam bam (family).

I also encourage YOU to take a day to treat yourself every year! (On a day that's not a birthday, holiday, bank holiday, etc.) I also share how my family and I celebrated our inaugural "Treat Yo’ Self Day."


The “rules” are simple.

  1. Pick a date

  2. Prep! Make reservations, place orders, book tickets, etc

  3. ENJOY your day

  4. Repeat on the same day next year!

For me, it’s not about how much you spend (though feel free to spend BIG) but about normalizing taking a day to TREAT YO’ SELF!
