Hey SnackySays Subscribers, Hey!
October is nearly a wrap! How's your year going? Looks like we're hurtling toward 2023 or crawling...depending on your perspective.
As for me, this year hasn't had the ROAR that I would expect during the year of the Tiger. So weird. Sometimes this year just feels like come on, Man! Well, we have until 1/22/23 before the year of the Rabbit comes hopping in. So, hope springs eternal!
In fun fact news, I hit a YouTube milestone recently when I officially gained 100 subscribers! Woot! Woot! If you've already subscribed to my YouTube channel, THANK YOU. If you haven't, come on over! I post daily shorts! Mostly, what I'm eating and doing.
Okay! In this month's newsletter, I have three things for you. Let's get into it!
1. Fitness Reset
August and September were struggle months for me fitness-wise. Though I kept up with my workouts, I ate much more than usual and walked far less.
This ain't my first rodeo. Health and fitness is a lifetime journey. Keeping the long game in mind, I should have expected this hiccup but somehow it caught me off, guard. And I ended up gaining six pounds. Which I don't mind.
What I mind is HOW I gained the weight. Was it eating my way through Accra? No. Was it laying around watching my favorite Chinese Drama and stuffing my face? No.
It was all down to stress and a new-to-me schedule. Hard pass! I decided that I didn't come this far (in my health journey) to get this far. I am all for good eating and good living! NOT stress eating and stress living.
To help me reset, I journaled, talked my family's head off about the situation, started paying attention to data (using fitness apps and my mood journaling), and a very new to me approach...I bought the e-book and audiobook versions of A Course in Weight Loss, 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Loss Forever by Marianne Williamson.
Did I need this book to lose a few pounds? No, but I did need help with my mindset and some insight into why I was getting into the habit of eating in a way that wasn't serving me.
I ended up losing the weight, (I believe) because I focused on my mindset and the intentions that I have for my health and fitness.
Here are some videos that I watched that helped me with my mindset and also helped inspire me to stay the course. I've also included two SnackySays podcast episodes that deal with resetting and stress.

2. Workspaces!
I've been reading the Workspaces newsletter for a few months now. It's basically a weekly peek into remote workers' spaces. There's so much inspiration and you can also learn about new-to-you remote roles.
Another benefit of the Workspaces newsletter is finding cool products or office accessories. Like Baron Fig stationery! Happy to report that I am loving the goodies that I got! Especially the weekly pad where I plan out my most important to-dos.
Thus far, I don't have a photo-worthy workspace setup but here's the adjustable standing desk I currently use. Spoiler alert: It's really a workbench from Home Depot!
3. Fall Recipes! Or Whenever You Like...
As it gets colder I start craving chicken pot pie and lasagne! Stick to your ribs' types of food! This proves true every year even though I haven't eaten chicken in going on two years. LOL. Cravings, am I right?
Here are a few recipes that found me (I was not looking they just popped up in my inbox and feed). Thinking I'll give these a whirl. Please let me know if you try any of them!
Yep, I included Lobster Rolls, cause they are my favorite sammy! It's been an age since I ate one so I was excited to find the dairy-free option below.
Note: I am about to post this newsletter and just noticed that none of these recipes are in danger of sticking to my ribs. LOL. Is there a hearty non-dairy veggie or seafood pot pie out there?! Asking for a friend. 😜
BRAWTA
Found myself taking notes while reading this creator thread re: growing your audience or business
Revisiting wearing a uniform most days
The survey that I wish I thought of: Let's Settle This
Yes, I said I would cut down on (healthy) snacks BUT
Last but not least, eek!! Homemade Poke Bowls!
I have a feeling that I just might post more than one newsletter next month. Enjoy the rest of your month and see you in November! Stay focused!

Oh Hey!
Thanks for reading all the way to the end! While you're here, I thought I'd share a few ways to stand up without assistance from Hampton of Hybrid Calisthenics. He has such a laid-back vibe and I love watching his movement tips!
