Hey SnackySays Subscribers, Hey!
How are you doing today? I hope that you're having an amazing November!
Thought I'd start this newsletter with my November workout plans! Last month I worked out but didn't follow a specific plan. This meant that I was unintentionally skipping Leg Day or Stretch Day.
I don't want to wake up one day with Angela Bassett's arms and toothpick legs. LOL. So this month, I am following a 30-day Millionaire Hoy challenge.
The beauty of following a multi-day challenge is that the arms, abs, legs, cardio, etc are all scheduled for you. Easy as pie.
DAILY PLAN
MonikaFit: 10 mins (morning workout, pilates, etc) like this, this or this.
Millionaire Hoy Workout: 30 -45 minutes - RECHARGE challenge or workout of the day (on his HoyPro app)
Whatever I Feel Like: 5 - 20 minutes Youtube Workout like this, this, or this.
Total workout time is about 60 minutes or so. Though a case can be made for a minimalist workout routine, an hour plus is my sweet spot.
On a related note, if you're looking for a true beginner at-home workout program, check out Start Moving from KaisaFit.
AND for quick beginner-friendly workouts, check out my 5-Minute-ish Workout Playlist!
As usual, I am not an affiliate for ANY fitness video or instructor that I mention in this newsletter. Just sharing the love.

Okay! Let's get into this month's newsletter. (Psyche, I am probably gonna post another newsletter this month 😊)
1. Vegan Cookbooks Galore!
Adding to my vegan cookbook collection with these three beauties:
The Korean Vegan by Joanne Lee Molinaro
Cooking from the Spirit by Tabitha Brown
All Day Vegan by Mina Rome
Lately, I've been having angst about my "Food Label". Like am I a Pescatarian? Flexitarian? Vegan at Times? Am I overthinking it? (Hint: I'm definitely overthinking it)
That being said, I'm loving flipping through these cookbooks and planning meals and snacks to devour!
Oh, what's that book on top of the stack, you say? Why it's Fabulous Food Boards! My cousin gifted me this book and I am gonna use it to show my a** at Charcuterie Night in January. 😜 Yes, with no meat or cheese. Miracles happen every day. Stay tuned!
2. Croissant Season
In "The Hill That You're Willing to Die On"SnackySays podcast episode, I said that I would not go to Paris and have a vegan croissant. Cause BUTTER! While I'm not convinced that a vegan croissant will taste as good, now I have options. ⬇️⬇️
2 b. In related Croissant and $$ News...
I just love this couple's entrepreneurial origin story! Bonus points for the bakery being located in my hometown, Brooklyn, New York.
3. BOOKS ON REPEAT
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriela Garcia Marquez
The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan (The movie is the best book-to-movie adaption that I've ever seen)
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
Beloved by Toni Morrison
What do these books all have in common?
These are my OG classics.
I've read all of them (way) over five times each.
These books have been in my Top Ten for decades.
Why? The imagery, storytelling, and how deeply I felt things that happened in each book. . .How connected I felt to the characters. These are stories that I never wanted to end.
They also each resemble fables in some way. There are joyous happenings and cautionary tales.
Have you read any of these books? What are YOUR favorites? Do tell! I'm ALWAYS looking for a good read!
4. Not All Heroes Wear Capes
Pauline Adeleke is EVERYTHING. She's super fit at 70 years young and SUCH an inspiration. Don't take my word for it. 👀 ⬇️⬇️

From an Octogenarian: tips for balancing the elements in your life
Was I living under a rock five years ago? How is it that this song is new to me? Also, Eliana Ghen is one hell of an actress.
Girl by Jamaica Kincaid is one of my favorite short stories EVER
The way this Mom understood the assignment! Yes, Queen!
Last but not least, guess whose style archetype is Tom Boy?! Mine!

Oh Hey!
Thanks for reading all the way to the end! While you're here, I thought I'd share this yummy-looking Everything Bagel Grilled Cheese recipe. I made this the other day with non-dairy cheese and it was an epic failure. Le sigh. But hey if you eat dairy, try it with the real thing. I don't think it tastes great with non-dairy cheese. But maybe it's the brand that I used?
See you soon! In the meanwhile, eat lots of yummy food and take good care of yourselves!
Love,
Joddie 🌺
