Hey SnackySays Subscribers, Hey!
How are you doing at this moment? Hope this newsletter finds you well! And that you are having the best August EVER.
Around these parts, I swear Fall is already in the air, which is fine by me. Did you know that autumn is my favorite season? It's a blend of my two elements: fire and wood. 😉
I'm also ready for Fall, as I've been having intermittent bouts of summer sadness. Journaling, going for walks, and at-home workouts have helped. Plus, I just got these Sacred Self-Care Oracle Cards from Hay House. They are having a 50% off sale! So I also scooped up a 2023 calendar.
Fun fact: This is the first calendar that I've purchased since 2019. Ah, 2019 aka the Before Times. Oh, 2020, the plans that I had for you! Well, here's to 2023 plans! 🍾
Let's get into this month's newsletter, shall we?
1. Where's Joddie?!
Glad you asked! Here's where and when you can find me in these internet streets ⬇️⬇️

2. Ear Candy
Ear Candy is what I call sweet and nutritious sounds for your ears! Think personal development books, inspirational affirmations/speeches, how-to, etc.
Now some days, I just need to listen to a paranormal romance while I make coffee and I still consider that Ear Candy. I enjoy this genre and it gives me a mental boost!
My favs this month:
PODCASTS
AUDIOBOOKS
How to Change by Katy Milkman - The author was featured in this YouTube video about change and I knew that I had to check out her book. Whether you're curious about the science behind changing or just ready for a change that will stick, this book is for you.
Feel Great, Lose Weight by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee - My FAV book this year! I've listened to it so many times and it never gets old.
Munro by Kressley Cole - I am absolutely enamored by the Immortals After Dark series! Though I've only listed the latest book here, I've listened to at least 4 others from the series this month alone. And I'll tell you something else. I've found my new favorite narrator in Robert Petkoff. Here he is reading from Book 1 which was the novella that kicked off the series.
P.S. For great deals on audiobooks check out Chirp!
3. I Like to Move It, Move It!
No surprise, Millionaire Hoy workouts were a big part of my movement this month. ICYMI, HE IS MY FAV! Highlights from this month of movement:
Millionaire Hoy - Hoy Pro App
Hi-Low Abs Tempo Time Workout (45 mins)
No Jump Pump Low Impact (45 mins)
30-Minute Workout for When You Don't Feel Like Working Out
**I also completed most of his 30-Day 500 Degrees Challenge! Holy sweat fest! In just 35 minutes, I would be a happy, sweaty mess at the end of each workout. Funnily enough, Day 28's non-sweat fest, Full Body Deep Stretch & Yoga Recovery was my favorite!
Similar Mill Hoy workouts on YouTube:
Hi-Low Abs Full Body Strength (30 mins)
Beginners Low Impact Full Body (20 mins) featuring Millionaire & Tiffany Hoy
Total Body Deep Stretch for Recovery (30 mins)
Bonus: If you only have 10 minutes to move your body in the morning. You can't go wrong with any of MonikaFit's morning workouts.
My favorite: Standing Morning Workout
New-to-me and will be doing again soon: Morning Workout Perfect Way to Start Your Day (10 mins)

4. On My Mind
Last year, I randomly came across this expression on a personal finance blog. And it's stuck with me since. It can be applied to almost any decision fueled by cold cash. Whether you're pondering a promotion at work or relocating to a new city. Sometimes you gotta ask yourself, *"Is the cake worth the bake?"
Have you heard this expression before? What came to mind when you just read it?
*This cake worth the bake quote, never ceases to delight me and is of course from a paranormal romance book! Kressley Cole's, No Rest for the Wicked.
5. Online Courses Galore!
My love of online courses has been well documented. After years of buying and usually not finishing courses...I think I am closing in on my formula for course completion.
I'm interested af (like for realz, for realz not because it's trendy)
I can implement action steps in my life or business, early and often.
With that in mind, this month, I joined Skillshare to learn more about Surface Pattern Design. Why? Because I would love to drink from a tumbler with my own design on it.
After reading Cashing Out, I've taken stock of my clothes, stationery, and even drinkware. An inordinate amount is basically free advertising for companies that I don't necessarily LOVE. There are layers to this, for example, all of the aforementioned were free.
You know the freebies that I'm talking about. The ones you receive at company events or you won from that raffle. I actually have a bunch of stuff that was snail mailed to me during the pandemic. At the time I attended several virtual events that included physical swag bags and party favors.
I wanna rep myself! Why not?! I just know the energy coming off items that I created will hit different. Can. Not. Wait.
Luckily for me, Skillshare has a plethora of courses on Surface Pattern Design. My fav instructors so far are Bonnie Christine and Amelie Mancini.
If you're not into Surface Pattern Design. No worries, Skillshare is just an embarrassment of riches! So much to choose from and to learn. From Knife skills to making YouTube videos.
Are you a Skillshare member? If so, which classes do you love and recommend? Please hit reply and let me know! Wanna try Skillshare for free? If you use my referral link you can try it for free for 30 days.
